The new wii fit plus actually has a lot of really fun games! This video is one of the games. You have to flap your arms like a bird and land on various targets. The balance board can detect your shift in balance just by flapping your arms. I should have gotten video of some of the other games. They are more fun than this one...

Last weekend Diana and I hiked up Mount Timpanogos. We backpacked up Friday night with Chris and Crystelle Grant. We backpacked 4.8 miles to Emerald Lake and camped out over night. We found a really nice secluded spot to camp with a nice fire pit. Drew and his wife Barbara were supposed to meet up with us that night but we never found each other. Luckily the next morning as we were starting to hike up the trail we ran into Drew and Barbara! We were so happy that they found us! There were TONS of people on the trail unfortunately. But we still had a good time. We hiked down the mountain and got back to our car around 6 pm. Our legs and backs were killing us from carrying a full pack! We didn't carry our packs the 2.5 miles from our campsite to the peak - but we carried them 10 miles total still. Our bodies are still recovering...but it was worth it.

Here are some pics of the hike. Just click on the slideshow to see them.

Happy Birthday Dad!

(Look at that cake and flame (not the flame my dad's holding :)!!))

I know this is late, but I still wanted to share the pictures I took on Saturday to celebrate Dads birthday! Saturday, August 15th, Dad, Paul, Jennie, James, Kristina, Jonathan, Michael, Mom, Stephanie, Steven, Baba, Jeff and I were all together that weekend for Michael's baby blessing and while we were all together we planned to celebrate my Dad's .......Birthday! (ha ha) We all had a blast eating beef strips, rice, salad, wonderful/delicious chocolate cake (from costco), and ice cream. It was a lot of fun! Thanks mom and all those who contributed for all your hard work! HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD!!You got to love that face, especially those of you who know what he is reading....Ahhhh is right!!

Stephanie and I went to the Cowabunga Bay Water Park yesterday morning from 10am till 2pm. All I have to say is 4 hours was definitely enough time for the both of us, but then again anybody older than 12 or 13 probably would have been fine after 2 hours. Let me explain.....although I had a blast with Stephanie I probably will never go back unless I had a 6 or 7 year old kid. They only had 5 slides a couple mini slides, a lazy river (Stephanie calls crazy river, especially by the afternoon), and a pool which ranges from 0 ft to 3 ft (not joking). When they advertise for this park online they should say in bold....THIS PARK IS NOT MEANT FOR PEOPLE OVER 12 YEARS OF AGE, UNLESS YOU HAVE CHILDREN THAT AGE OR YOUNGER. It was definitely a one time thing and even Stephanie agreed with me and I quote from Stephanie, "This park is worth $5." Even though I think the park is not that expensive and this includes the food, lockers, parking (free) and pass to get in, it is just way to small (I could walk across the park and back in less than 5 min.) and by the afternoon it can get pretty crowded. Stephanie and I arrived around 9:56 in the morning when the park opened at 10 and we both thought we were going to have to wait in this long line to get in, but no...we were the first ones to get in. My point is....you probably shouldn't go... let alone pay if all you're going to do is go on the slides two or three times (shivering from the wind and being scared to death as it rocks back and forth waiting to go down the slide) then lay in a 3 ft deep (I don't even know if I should even put the word deep) pool for the rest of the time and get sun burned, well I got tanned, but poor Stephanie is red as can be.

Hike to Donut Falls

I was acutally hoping Jeff would post this, but I obviously have more time then he does. So last Friday Jonathan, Kristina, Michael and Stephanie were over at our apartment to join us for dinner and hike Donut Falls. We left for the hike around 6:30 thinking it would still be warm enough but still cool enough in the mountains, but we were wrong. It was soooo cold. By the time we drove up Big Cottonwood it was 52 degree F. So Jonathan and Kristina made sure Michael was covered and we started the hike. It was absolutely beautiful seeing all the green trees and the clear water fall.

Once we reached the waterfall we started to take pictures. And I promise you the pictures are not photoshopped or fixed in anyway, they just look like it for some reason. Also the gang thought it would be funny to play a trick on me. You know the pretend I am taking a photo of you when I am really video taping you. Yeah everyone got a kick out of it. And Jeff as well as the rest of them would get upset with me if I didn't add it so enjoy watching it sideways. It's actually kind of funny.

Stephanie, Jeff and I went to a Stake ward BBQ on Saturday where we enjoyed free Dinner and played games. Stephanie and I slid down a huge blow up slide and got our faces painted. It was a lot of fun and we were lucky we remebered to go. About an hour before it started Jeff and I were trying to decided what we wanted to have for dinner. I was just about to cook something when Jeff said, "Diana I want to go outside and throw a football!" and I quickly replied, "YES!!! I want to get out of this apartment!!" So we all went outside and ran into a family from the ward. We started to talk as we were all walking to the park and then it hit me. I turned to Jeff and said, "Jeff look at those balloon we have a stake party tonight!" We both started to laugh at each other as we both realized what perfect timing we had. While we were waiting in line for the FREE food the family we were walking with started to ask us where we were orginally from. Stephanie quickly responded, "Anaheim, California!" and the women replied, "I am from Colorado." Both Stephanie and I said, "We have a sister-in-law from Colorado." Then of course she quickly replied, "What part?" I couldn't remember, (sorry Jennie) but Jeff did and said, "Louisville, Colorado!" She started jumping up and down and said I am from Louisville too! I told her my sister-in-law's name was Jennie Hansen/Peterson. And she said..."I KNOW HER!! She was in my home ward." I quickly asked her what her maiden name was and she said, "Kirsten Rudolf (sp)!" What a small world?! So we had a wonderful time talking with them during dinner and getting to know them a little bit better! We had a lot of fun.

SEAT COVERS for the Chairs!!!

When I went to Calfornia my mom helped me sew seat covers for the chairs of our apartment. I was able to make my own pattern and my mom helped me assemble them. Our apartment is starting to look more home-like. It's nice to come home and see the bright beautiful flower-print. :)

We finally pulled the trigger and got a new (used) car. It's a 2006 Toyota Corolla with 63000 miles. We've needed a second car now that I work full-time and Diana will be starting school at the U next fall. I've been hesitant to buy another car but found a great deal. Here are some pics. Needless to say Diana is very excited.

Stephanie's Visit

Stephanie was able to come visit and stay with Jeff and I since last Friday and stayed with us till Tuesday afternoon. We were able to do a lot of fun activities such as spending the night in Dave's cabin, riding horses, swimming at Gramma Peggy's pool, played settlers once, monopoly once, and ticket to ride 3 times, baked cookies, watched plenty of movies (Knowing, Next, and Ratatouille), and exercised (with the Wii Fit and jogged).
Here are pictures to show how much fun Stephanie and I had:

  • Stephanie posing by the window of the cabin. Look at the beautiful view.

  • Stephanie sliding down the slide to walk to the river with me and Jeff. Dave's cabin is in the background. Can you see Jeff?

  • Stephanie and I riding The Marriott horses.Stephanie and I swam in the pool at Gramma's
  • Exercised with the Wii Fit.

Trip to California

Jeff and I have been wanting to take a trip somewhere for a long time so we decided we wanted to drive down to California, but then found out we had problems with our car so that idea was a bust. But then we remembered Jeff's parents,(Don and Jan) and Amy were planning to visit Michael, Jack, and Becca in San Diego so we convinced Jeff's parents to drive a couple days earlier so we could tag along and go to Disney California Adventures and an Angel's game. So we left last Friday early in the morning and arrived in California just in time to make the Angel's baseball game and watch the firework show, Big Bang Friday. Then most of the day Saturday we went to Disney California Adventures, thanks to Bruce and relaxed the rest of that evening. On Sunday after church Don, Jan and Amy left to San Diego as planned and Jeff and I stayed with my family in Anaheim. We weren't quite sure what we were going to do Monday and Tuesday that wouldn't cost so most so we decided to go to Knott's Berry Farm on Monday and the beach Tuesday morning before our flight back to SLC. Knott's was still a little pricey so Jeff went online for work and found out he could get Knott's tickets for 50% off so we decided to go for it. But lucky for us and thanks again to Bruce he had two free tickets to Knotts and we were able to go with Steven and Kristopher, Bruce's son. It was a lot of fun including the 11-32oz sodas Steven drank, lets just say he had a hyper night. Later on that evening Jeff and I went to another Angel's game, which sad to say they lost, but it was still an amazing game. The funny part was Jeff was complaining at Friday nights game how he has never seen an Angel hit a homerun. Not only did the Angels hit 3 homeruns on Friday night, they hit 3 homeruns in a row on Monday night. How they lost I don't know, well actually I do, stupid Fuentes let 4 points come in during the 9th inning. Tuesday morning we left as early as we could and went to beach for 3 hours. The water was freezing cold but all of us got use to it after awhile. We went boogy boarding and caught amazing waves and I was able to get some California sun! :) Jeff and I went home that night and wished we could have stayed longer. Anways.... we had so much fun and can't wait to go back for Thanksgiving. Thanks mom and dad for letting us stay in your home and Thanks Don and Jan for letting us tag along. And of course Thank you Bruce!! :)

While we were in California Adventures, we all went inside the Animation Academy and they were teaching us how to draw Jack Skeleton from The Nightmare before Christmas. As you can see there are only three pictures because Jeff and Jan didn't want to keep theirs. So sad. It was a lot of fun learning how to draw.

Last night and early this morning I decided to make my mom's cinnamon rolls for Jeff's work. Every time we visit my parents my mom makes these wonderful cinnamon rolls that literally melt in your mouth. Jeff absolutely loves these cinnamon rolls and begged me to learn from the master, my mother. So when we went to California last Friday I decided to learn. They really aren't that hard it just takes a lot of time and patience.

To learn how to make them visit this fabulous blog my sister in law (Jennie) and her sister (Paula) created. It's called "What's for Dinner" I absolutely love this blog because you get to learn new recipes that are amazing and you also don't get caught as much asking your husband "what do you want for dinner hunny?" :) Anyways anybody who reads this should check it out! http://everydaydinners.blogspot.com/

On July 18th Joe Joe (cousin) and Vwe were sealed in the Jordon River Temple followed by a beautiful reception in Mapleton. It was a wonderful weekend surrounded by family. Although Stephanie wasn't able to catch the bouquet (like at my wedding) Steven was able to catch the garter. :-) We all had a wonderful time even if we weren't able to play Settlers! hahah (I had to add that in somehow).
Slideshow pictures of the wedding ....coming soon

IT'S OFFICIAL!!

I am now officially certified to be a CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant). I just got it in the mail today! Now I can start applying for jobs, if there are any left, and learn to work 12 hour shifts! YEAH!! :) And surprisingly I found a job posted yesterday for a CNA at the Murray Intermountain Hospital, let's just hope it's still there! Wish me LUCK! I will definitely need it. :)

Happy 2nd Anniversary!!

Yesterday Jeff and I celebrated our 2nd anniversary at the movies and Macaroni Grill! Jeff came home from work with beautiful flowers in his hands and took me to the movies to see X-Men: Wolverine which was surprisingly good then to dinner which was also very good. Later on that evening I surprised Jeff with a delicious dessert that I made. (I will have to add this to "What's for Dinner" soon.) Jeff bought me perfume and I bought him Settlers of Catan with Cities and Knights. It was a wonderful day and evening! I love Jeff very much and appreciate all that he does for me.

My Birthday!!

It's been way too long since the last time Jeff and I posted so now I am going to attempt to catch up starting with my birthday! My birthday was on June 17th and I finally turned 21!! YEAH!!! Jeff made a wonderful salmon dinner which was accompanied by Kristina, Jonathan, baby Michael, Dan, and Jillian. We had lots of fun talking and enjoying each others company. My wonderful father and mother in-law's (Don and Jan) later joined us as we all ate Lemon Cream Pie from Marie Callenders.

That weekend Jeff took me out to dinner to Cheesecake Factory. They have the best food and cheesecake of course. I took home a huge piece of cookie dough cheesecake and it was divine. Overall I had a wonderful happy birthday!! :-)

This last week I came to New Hampshire with my formula racing team. We got to go to Sharon, Vermont on Sunday to visit Joseph Smith's birthplace. Here is some pictures of the trip so far:

The past several months I have been a member of BYU's formula hybrid racing team. We are making one of the first high performance hydraulic hybrids in the nation. I am posting some pictures of our progress. These pictures were taken while we were assembling various parts of the car. We should have a fully functional car in a few weeks. It has been a time consuming project, but its been fun.

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!

(Picture was taken two years ago)

We haven't posted in a really long time so we decided to wish everyone a Happy Valentines Day! I hope everyone feels the love tonight! :)

These pictures show why not to board an Airbus plane. :P It's actually amazing. No one died in this crash landing. This US Airways airplane crash landed in the Hudson River. All 148 people made it off safely. Apparently the plane failed because of birds. I sure hope the plane I fly in next is a little more robust. Kudos for the pilot for landing so smoothly on water. By the way I've never heard anything good about flying with US Airways. Avoid them at all costs.
